WE BUY RECORDS

Got a collection collecting dust instead of spinning? We are always on the hunt for clean, well-preserved physical media to add to our crates.

We are the hub for the analogue purist, and we are paying top dollar for quality music. We believe that music is meant to be felt and held, not stored in the attic. Let us help you give your records a new home.

What the Rex is Roaring For

Our turbocharged T-Rex mascot has excellent (and very loud) taste! While we are busy filling our bins for a community hungry for generous sound, we are specifically looking for the following genres and artists to add to our "crate collector" paradise:

  • Analogue Purist's Vinyl:

    • Classic Rock: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, The Who, etc.

    • Heavy Metal & Hard Rock: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Van Halen, etc.

    • Punk Rock & New Wave: The Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Blondie, Joy Division, The Cure, etc.

    • Alternative Rock: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, R.E.M., etc.

    • Old School Rap & Hip Hop: Run-D.M.C., N.W.A., Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Wu-Tang Clan, The Notorious B.I.G., etc.

    • Pop: Top 40 Pop / Modern Pop.

    • Others: Rock, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Reggae, Indie, International, Blues, Bluegrass, Psych, R&B, Salsa, Hardcore, New Wave, Disco, Dance, Electronic, Ambient, Soundtracks, Rare Grooves, and more!

Our Goldmine Grading Philosophy

Your visual brand features "collector-grade" standards, and our appraisal workbench is no different. We buy based on transparency and professional visual/play grading, appraising through a specialized music lover's lens, not just as simple inventory.

Condition is Everything: We keep music physical and functional. This means we are only interested in:

  • Records/Sleeves: That are in good, playable shape, from Goldmine grades VG+ and above. No subs needed for true quality.

  • Tapes: That are pristine for that true-analogue texture and reel-to-reel action.

What We DO NOT Buy: To maintain our community prices and high standards, we cannot accept:

  • MAJOR DAMAGE: Records with major water damage (moldy/peeling sleeves), warping, or deep scratches that skip.

  • SNAPPED TAPE: Cassette tapes with snapped or visibly moldy tape on the reels.

Note on Specialized Taste: What The Rex is Not Roaring For

Our turbocharged T-Rex mascot has excellent (and very loud) taste, specifically focused on the high-energy genres that keep music physical and functional.

While we are busy filling our bins for a community hungry for generous sound like Led Zeppelin, Metallica, or Wu-Tang Clan, we find that some genres are a much tougher sell for our specific clientele.

This means that we are typically NOT interested in collections that are mostly composed of:

  • Easy Listening & Show Tunes: Collections focused heavily on the smooth sounds of Barbara Streisand, Barry Manilow, Perry Como, or Engelbert Humperdinck.

  • Classical Music: This genre moves very slowly in our specific community.

To maintain our community prices and specialized "crate collector" inventory, we prioritize true analogues and true energy.

Pre-Load Your Crate: Contact Us Before You Roll!

We strongly suggest contacting the shop 352-881-1534 prior to bringing your collection in.

We pride ourselves on community prices and 100% transparency. This starts with a quick conversation to ensure we have a bench slot ready and you (the seller) have realistic expectations.

1. The Workbench Method (Local Drop-Off)

Generous sound, one local shop. We strongly suggest contacting the shop 352-881-1534 prior to bringing your collection in to ensure we have a bench slot ready.

When you call us, we are busy filling our bins with generous sound, so we need some quick details. Please have a sample of your collection in front of you. Be prepared to spend a few minutes on the phone reviewing the artists, titles, and genres.

You are always welcome to bring your collection to the shop during our regular business hours for us to evaluate. We will perform a thorough visual and (if necessary) play assessment. If the collection is something we are interested in, we will provide a fair, transparent quote and make an immediate offer on the spot. We offer immediate cash or in-store credit.

2. The Rex-on-the-Road Method (House Calls)

Keep music physical everywhere. If you have a true analogue treasure trove, we are willing to travel.

We perform house calls for substantial collections, specifically:

  • Collections with more than 500 vinyl records.

  • Collections with rare or highly desirable titles that the Rex is already roaring for.

The process is 100% transparent. Your collection must first be vetted by one of our specialized buyers. We suggest calling us at 352-881-1534 or emailing info@DebaryFamilyMusic.online to provide details (artists, titles, genres, etc.) and photographs of your items. This sets you up with realistic expectations for the house call.

Once we confirm we are interested, we can make arrangements to come to you.

We will travel anywhere in Florida for the right collection.
